Good Times with Blaine

To be perfectly honest, the last three weeks, Blaine has been much more enjoyable and much less frustrating.  He still has his fits and tantrums on occassion, as any child, but they have not been as often as the fun and endearing moments.  His character is really starting to bloom.  Here are two vids of him recently.

He still loves music, and he's been perfecting his dancing skills lately.

This one was probably much more fun for Tim and me then it was for Blaine.

Our New Favorite

Do you and your kids listen to music?  I love music, and the boys love music, but sometimes (most of the time) I just forget to turn it on.  I've never been a fan of most of the kids albums you can pick up at the store.   They are just way too...I don't know...annoying.?  I purchased one kids CD recently and I am not a fan.  Kind of regret getting it.

My friend has suggested this album twice now, and I finally bought it.

We LOVE it!  As far as kid's music goes...it is heavenly!  I ended up buying it on I-tunes and we've had it for about 2 weeks now.  I catch myself singing these songs all the time...in the Commissary, while I'm making dinner, when I'm getting ready in the morning.  Some of the boys' favorites are "I'm Adopted", "Mexican Rhapsody" (which ALWAYS makes me hungry), and "I Wanna Help".  Some of the songs are just silly and fun.  Some carry an extra amount of humor that only mom and dad can enjoy.  There are also lots of songs that point to God: how He's saved us, how He loves us, how we can talk to Him about anything.  Love, love, love this album!  (I should have listened to you earlier Krystle!)

If you go to my friend's blog, A Little of This, she has links to where you can hear samples of the songs before buying, along with a few of the other Slugs & Bugs albums.  You won't regret getting any of these I'm sure!

You can purchase them through The Rabbit Room, Amazon.com, or I-tunes.  I anticipate I'll be purchasing the other album soon, along with looking into the other suggestions Krystle has on her blog.

Do you have any albums that both you and your kids enjoy?!!

Steal Your Pain

This song popped into my head tonight. Love it.

">

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel light when you’re gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel light when you’re gone away
